Shot this great couple in Ft. Worth this past weekend with one of the Wedding Photographers whom I look up to, Sam Hassas. The groom, Stephen, who is half Shrilankan, was a pretty suave guy – in a James Bond kind of way, but without the cool gadgets and lethal hands. Somewhat reserved, but you could tell he had his head on his shoulders and his feet firmly planted on the ground. Brittany had the oh-so-ever classic look about her….photographs real well. She’s got the quintessential southern drawl as well. Straight out of “Steel Magnolias” The couple and wedding party were all really great and very willing to participate. Though, I must admit, it was a rather different experience for me – no wedding rings, no dancing and no booze. WHOA. I’m used to the all out parties that are indicative of Catholic weddings. Nonetheless, it was a fun day and it was a pleasure to photograph such wonderful people and to work with an incredible Photographer. I owe you BIG, Sam!

Believe it, or not. The Pastor forgot to sign their marriage license, so technically, they weren’t recognized as a married couple by the law! Way to go separation of state and church! But, the Pastor, being the hero that he is, met us at the parking garage downtown where we were shooting and signed the paperwork.

I hope I didn’t inundate you with ALL the pictures. Hope you enjoyed looking at ’em as much as I did taking them! 🙂

Check it out….another awesome couple! Did an Engagement Session for two really wonderful people yesterday, Melissa and Webster. You will not find a more laid back, but fun-loving couple out there. Right off the bat, it’s pretty obvious how in love these cool cats are. They’re playful, they’re super sweet to each other and they put off such a good, positive vibe. Melissa’s a magician with hair and Webster gets to work on some of the most advanced and powerful vehicles in the world – Porsches! Seriously, though, is that even considered a job? I’d love to work on something as cool as a Porsche. Now…about the session…it was well-paced and nonchalant. Stress free and undemanding. Quick and painless. Good stuff! I’ll quit rambling now and post some of my favorites! Thanks for looking.

Melissa + Chris

Wow! What an amazing couple. The old adage that opposites attract really IS true! Melissa has a type-A personality. She comes from a tiny little Texas Town called Memphis. Even with a name like Memphis, the population remains around 3,000. She works for a small company as the Director of Internal Operations. Not sure exactly what that entails, but I can pretty much guarantee it’s something I can’t do! Oh, and she also writes, runs mini-marathons and is in the process of becoming her own boss. Ya think she’s got her head on her shoulders and her feet on the ground? Wonderful Gal!

Now Mr. Chris is a type-B. Laid back Cajun cool cat from Louisiana. Get this – he’s got several Crawfish Eating Contest winnings under his belt! Whoa! How does one become that cool!? I gotta start working on that. Chris is a musician and a scholar. I hear he dances like a maniac to Zydeco! On top of all this, he’s got a Masters in Philosophy and is pursuing a PhD! Brilliant guy, wouldn’t you say? What’s cool, though, is that he doesn’t flaunt it. The man doesn’t have anything to prove like some scholarly types that you usually run into. He’s as laid back as laid back can get.

Fast forward seven years and they’re still in love and it truly shows. These two were so awesome to photograph! They really made my job a lot easier. Often times they didn’t even need directing, I just pointed my camera in their direction and voila! I hope all my future clients are that cool!

Enough rambling………on to the pictures!

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my images 🙂

I got to photograph one of my favorite bands last night at the newly renovated Bass Concert Hall! It almost didn’t happen due to illness. Two nights prior, they canceled the show in Dallas, but decided that the show must go on in Austin. They kinda love it here. I don’t blame them! 😉
