Shot another fantastic wedding with Arol at AJH Photography this past weekend. The celebration took place at the gorgeous Plantation House in Pflugerville. I was really blown away by this venue. The attention to detail inside and out was absolutely amazing. The folks that run it are some great people! Easily one of the best venues that I have shot at. Add a great looking couple who, are utterly in love with each other, to that equation as well as one of the more stunning dresses I’ve seen and you’ve got a wedding that is really easy to photograph! Made me forget that it was 95 degrees out that day, even if more a moment. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Christina :: Bridal

Howdy Y’all! Shot a bridal session couple weeks ago with Christina at the LOVELY Villa Antonia. What a beautiful venue this is! Out in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by the lush hill country. Let me start by saying thank you to Ed Lehman, a colleague of mine, for coming out to assist me with this shoot! And it should also be known that Christina was such a trooper that day! It ain’t easy trudging up and down stairs of a hilly venue in a wedding dress in 90 degree weather. But, she did it, with no problem or complaints and a constant smile on her face. I’ll be shooting her and Kyle’s wedding on June 21st, so keep an eye out for those pictures! Here are two of my personal favorites from the day.

Hey, Everyone! I shot a wedding last week in Houston for another local Photographer, Ben, of Godkin Photo. It’s really awesome to be able to work with other Photographers in the area. I think it’s important that we do that. By doing so, everyone benefits from learning off of one another. Needless to say that Ben is a great guy to work with. He has worked with this family in the past, so they were ultra nice and very welcoming to us both. The couple and the family were SO easy to work with. The wedding took place in yet another stunning Catholic church, St. Annes and the reception was very cozy and intimate. Here are some of my favorites from the day. Hope you enjoy!

Melissa + Rick | Wedding :: Fredericksburg

Howdy Y’all! Shot a Wedding in Fredericksburg on the 2nd of May, assisting my Buddy, Arol, at AJH Photography. Arol is a great Photographer and is really fun to shoot with. Melissa and Rick were such a great couple who have super awesome families. They got married at one of the most beautiful Catholic churches that I’ve ever been in. You won’t know from the pictures, but Melissa had to use crutches for a good portion of the day. She fractured a hip while running the Boston Marathon. Rick is also very active – he’s a personal trainer here in Austin. They make such a great couple who really know how to have fun and I wish them the best! Thanks to Arol for the opportunity!

Food P0rn

Like icing on the cake. That cigarette after a good meal. The cherry that sits on top of your sundae. The finale to Lisa’s Birthday celebration was all those things wrapped up in one. Rather, I should say, wrapped up in rice. It’s not everyday that you get to eat some of the finest sushi your city has to offer. Well, at least not for a mere peasant such as myself. You wouldn’t typically find me in a place like Uchi. A reservations-only kind of place. A dark, swanky and expensive establishment. But hey, it’s my Darling’s birthday and we were going to go all out!

Now Lisa and Sophie aren’t all that comfortable eating raw things that look otherworldly and decorative. But much to my surprise, and theirs as well I’m sure, they somehow conjured up their adventurous spirits and actually ate everything I ordered! Sushi ain’t so bad, people! I used to think it was. Even before I tried it. I automatically thought that raw fish is going to taste like, well, just that…..raw. I feared that it would taste as bad as my memory recalls it smelling. But it isn’t like that at all. It’s quite the contrary and it’s quite delicious. And once you’ve tried it and realized that it wasn’t anything like you expected, you kind of develop a liking for it, a taste for it, and even a craving. See….once your little tastebuds report to your brain that this whole sushi thing isn’t so bad, it becomes more and more enjoyable. Anyways, I’m really proud of the girls for trying and enjoying. It was just as much a treat to watch that as it was to indulge in the consumption of eating one of the worlds finest cuisines. So for all you naysayers out there, I highly suggest you going out to try sushi once again, or for the first time, with an open mind and an open mouth. IT’S SO GOOD. Now….on with the food porn. Enjoy 🙂

Very swanky and dark. Loved that wall paper, though!

Look! I even have my own brand of soy sauce!

Liza + Tim | Wedding :: New Orleans

Not having been to New Orleans as an adult, it’s suffice to say that I jumped on this opportunity without even blinking. Liza and Tim had just finished college and decided to moved back to Tim’s home town – The Big Easy. Young, but traditional, this wedding was both beautiful and fun! The ceremony and reception both took place at the Audubon Nature Center Golf Clubhouse. With Liza having been a sorority [girl] and Tim a fraternity [boy], this was no small wedding. There were 11 bride’s maids and 10 groom’s men. ELEVEN! Huge bridal party! And speaking of party….did these folks know how to! Probably one of the most fun receptions I’ve witnessed in a while. I hope you enjoy the pictures! As always, thanks for stopping by 🙂

Sue + James | Wedding

I had the honor of shooting my Sister’s wedding over this past weekend. It was a really small backyard wedding with only the immediate family attending. James and his children(think Brady Bunch) are a welcomed addition to our family! The ceremony took place in my Mother’s beautiful garden and the reception was at Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in downtown Austin. Mariachi Bands + wedding receptions = awesome! I highly recommend hiring one. The final song they played was the very song that made my Parents elope, which ultimately led to the conception of my sister, Sue…..funny how things work out like that. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!
